You can't sow seeds of doubt while they think that you are Satan's Minion, so don't give them a reason to think that.

Serena Williams thinks she is a JW LMAO
by jojorabbit ini saw a post pop up on some click bait where serena williams saying she was praying for armageddon to come and that the jws have said we are living in critical times hard to deal with.this was her response to the texas school shooting.
another cult catch phrase.
i am sorry williams you aint no jw.

She is no more a JW than I am. She chose not to get baptized into her parent's religion, so you can't expect her to live up to JW rules and expectations any more than you could expect any other unbaptized born-in to, even if she does display psychological damage from her JW upbringing.

History repeated: pre-1975 trend of selling homes to ‘downsize’
by LongHairGal ini saw this thread on reddit.
i think the reason for this is that the 1975 fiasco is never mentioned in the jw religion.
nobody mentioned it to me when i came in the years after.. the problem with this is that all the sad stories were never told (or hushed up) of people who sold off homes, etc.

At a funeral, I heard a brother being praised because he stayed strong even when the promises made for 1975 came and went without any fulfillment. I was wondering what was going on in the head of the speaker and his audience? Was the speaker trying to make a point to the weak?

When did JWs stop reciting the Lord’s Prayer together?
by slimboyfat indoes anyone know what year?
.

That's my memory too, Phizzy. I don't recall hearing the Lord's Prayer recited in lieu of a 'proper' prayer at any JW function in the 50's or later.

I remember her well. She was a sweetie. I think she thought I was a naughty boy sometimes, but she was always very nice to me.

I remember bringing this up with my mother when she would have been in her seventies. I was shocked. She had always given me the impression that she cared about people, but on this subject she didn't give a sh!t for the kids and families affected. I made sure that she knew that I wasn't impressed with her attitude and her double standards.

It's psychological warfare.
Don't 'tell' him anything. Ask him a single question that you know he doesn't have a good answer for and don't provide the answer for him. Make him go away and research the question himself and obligate him to report his answer back to you. Make it a question that he can easily research using WT resources he has available in the KH library, WTLIB, or whatever it is they have available nowadays.
Don't let him morph the question into another subject that he would rather discuss. Give him a guilt trip for trying to fool you by avoiding answering your question and make him pay for his dishonesty by insisting that he answers the question that you actually asked.
They dance around awkward questions like politicians. Watch out for their tricks and don't let them get away with anything.
